She is an actress, perhaps still best known for her portrayal of Demetra in the spy action comedy movie “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” in 2003, written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and which starred Daryl Sabara, Alexa PenaVega and Antonio Banderas. The film won three awards, and was nominated for five others.

Courtney hasn’t been appearing in any movies or TV series since 2014, as she is currently focused on becoming a film director, while she’s also running her company.

Early life and education

She was raised as an only child in Fairfax by her father who is a theatre actor, and her mother who was teaching English at a local high school. Courtney became interested in acting at the age of six, while she had the opportunity to test her skills when she turned eight. She was a member of her elementary school’s drama club and appeared in nearly all the plays performed there, and upon enrolling at a local high school in 2012, she also became physically active and started playing soccer for the school’s team. Upon matriculation in 2016, Courtney focused on her acting career, and didn’t enroll at a college although she practiced her directing skills at Sundance Institute’s Ignite Program.

Roles in TV series

Courtney made her debut TV series appearance in 2000, when she portrayed Lisa Hagonon in a single episode of the action crime series “Third Watch”, which starred Coby Bell, Skipp Sudduth and Jason Wiles, and which follows paramedics, firemen and police officers working in New York City – it won 14 awards including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series, and was nominated for 25 other awards.

The year 2001 saw her appear as Hannah Miller in an episode of the mystery crime series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, which was created by Dick Wolf and which starred Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni and Ice-T – the series follows a group of detectives working in New York, and won 51 awards including one Golden Globe ,while it was nominated for 151 others.

In 2002, she was invited to guest star as Jessica Rachel Trent in the procedural forensics crime series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, which starred Laurence Fishburne, Marg Helgenberger and George Eads, and followed a team of investigators in Las Vegas, Nevada – it was a huge success in the US, as it won 67 awards and was nominated for 126 others, including six Golden Globes. In the same year, Courtney played Kristen Farrell in a single episode of the drama series “That Was Then”.

In 2003, she played Rachel in an episode of the romantic medical series “ER”, which aired from 19 September 1994 to 2 April 2009, and starred Anthony Edwards and George Clooney.

In 2005, Courtney appeared as Amanda Wilkinson in the comedy film “Because of Winn-Dixie”, starring AnnaSophia Robb, Jeff Daniels and Eva Marie Saint, and which is about a dog who befriends a young girl – it was nominated for two Young Artist Awards. In the same year, she portrayed Bridget Bryne in the drama movie “Silver Bells”, about a woman who falls in love with a man who is running from his father – the film was somewhat successful, winning two awards and was nominated for another.

Her latest role in a movie has been in 2014, when she wrote, produced and starred, in the short comedy film “Go to Sleep, Sadie” which also starred Mandy Ford and Will Ford, and is about Sadie who spends a lonely night with her best friend which happens to be her pet turtle. It received mostly positive reviews.

Courtney has been running her own company Moonflower Pictures since 2012.

Love life and boyfriend

Courtney is very secretive when it comes to her love life, but it’s known that she was once in a relationship with Daryl Sabara, whom she met while they were shooting together for the movie “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” in 2003. They were too young to start a relationship, as Courtney was only 13 years old but they met again in 2011 and went on a date. Daryl has continued acting, and is today popular for his roles in movies such as the fantasy teen comedies “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Keeping Up with the Steins”.

They dated for around a year before splitting ways for unknown reasons. Daryl has been married to American singer Meghan Trainor since 2018.

As Courtney hasn’t talked about any man she might be dating, she currently appears to be single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Courtney has been taking dancing lessons for years now, and is also singing, which are two of her main hobbies. She knows how to play the guitar and the piano, beginning practicing on these at the age of eight. Courtney likes to spend her free time outdoors, and she’s a lover of animals with her favorites being horses – she is an avid horseback rider.

She is also keen on playing a variety of sports, and likes to cycle as well as to go shopping for clothes.
