Curt attended Coe College in Iowa, and in 2010 received an Honorary Doctorate in Journalism. Menefee began working in the broadcasting industry during the days of his college education. Prior to becoming a television show host, Curt worked as a host for KTCK 1310 on radio station The Ticket in Dallas. Following in the same manner, he worked as the sports anchor on WNYW, the Fox radio station in New York. He also appeared in Florida WLTV, an NBC affiliated television station. Menefee began working on NFL games on Fox during the late ‘90s, and subsequently became the sports anchor of Dallas-Fort Worth CBS affiliate KTVT. Curt was widely recognized for providing play-by-play for NFL Europe during the spring and summer. As of the late 2000s, he made an appearance on MLB, a presentation of Major League Baseball (MLB) games broadcast by Fox Sports channel. During a game between Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels, Menefee teamed up with José Mota, and they collaborated on play-by-play. In the following period, he held coverage of the 2010 UEFA Champions League on Fox, a game played by FC Internazionale Milano and FC Bayern Munich.

In the upcoming year, Menefee became the host for ‘’UFC on Fox’’ where he was accompanied by Jon Jones and Randy Coutre. The show was broadcast on Fox channel on Saturdays and was focused on mixed martial arts competitions and championships. Despite the constant change and circulation of the hosts, Curt has been working here since 2012 and is still working to this day. Curt served as a commentator for Pacquiao-Hatton fight on Top Rank, and went on to become announcer for ShoBox: The New Generation, a boxing television program on Showtime. In his personal life, Curt has married twice, firstly to Annaliese Menefee in 1999, but after divorce, in 2013 he married Viollette, and the couple remains together.
